My art will always be a reflection of the bond I have with the west coast. I reside and paint on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, as a settler on stolen lands.
I grew up exploring a world of colours and textures from the forest to the sea as a self-trained artist with synesthesia. I studied painting by working through collections of watercolours and oils, until I found a perfect medium that allowed me to create the images I felt inside. Since 2018, the focus of my art has been painting with fluid acrylics. Each piece is designed to evoke an emotion, a memory, or an escape.
The nature of working with fluid acrylics allows the artist to use a combination of technique and spontaneity - I am a guide for the paint, but ultimately the product is out of my control. This allows for a special experience creating custom orders, for we get to share a trust in the process of fluid artistry.
